Adami Glass Designs showcases the work of Nathan Adami, a central Illinois lampworker that focuses in the medium of borosilicate glass. Adami started working with glass in late 2005 while he was studying art at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He studied solid glass form for the first year, making a wide array of glass jewelry, before transitioning to the hollow form with specific interest in glass pipes. He honed his lampworking skills for many years making a variety of handheld production style pipes and jewelry from home studios in basements, garages, and homes of those kind enough to support his art. He is currently working from his home studio, overlooking the Illinois River in Peoria, IL. Adami continues to shape his craft by taking classes hosted by some of the top lampworking artists in the county. He is consistently striving to improve and reshape his art by collaborating with colleagues, learning new techniques, and reaching outside his comfort zone with a personal drive to excel beyond his past works. His solo projects are rooted mostly in clean line-work, custom color, nature inspired sculptures, and electroforming techniques. As a final note, Nathan said, "I was fascinated with glass art before I created it. I'm more passionate now than ever. The more pieces I make, the more I see my style grow and develop. I feel blessed everyday to have the backing of my fans, friends, and family to let me live the life I love."
