Stasik Roots. Umphrey's McGee Invades Chicago.

As day two of North Coast Music Festival was starting, Grassroots Chicago at 515 N. Halsted had a meet and greet with Ryan Stasik from Umphrey's McGee.

Stasik, otherwise known as Bassik Stasik has been a good friend of the GRC family since the beginning days, where he met Ryan “Ruga” Connolly, the owner of GRC. It was at the Summer Camp Music festival where he was gifted the Detroit Stoners hat.  

The next year at Summer Camp, Ruga challenged Stasik in a game of sunrise kickball where the winner would get a hat made paid by the loser.  Ruga may have gotten a bit Irish that night and was a no-show to the early morning game.

Being a man of his word, GRC created the first Bassik Stasik and has since made numerous Umphrey's McGee fitted and snapbacks.  Here is the most recent hat created in snapback and fitted!

This was an extra special NCMF as Umphrey’s McGee made their long awaited homecoming.  This was the band's first Chicago show in over two years after headlining the inaugural festival in 2009 and then again in 2012.
