Movement Gallery's First Group Show - This Me Now

The Movement Gallery was blessed with its' first group show this past weekend. Collaborating with Rah Marie on this exhibit, she put together the vision while we provided the space. We were lucky to have 13 different Chicago artists showcase their work in the gallery. The artists were given a task to create a self portrait, and the result were very interesting. SIA 2017 Recap

Grassroots California attended SIA Snow Show in Denver this past week, and boy did we enjoy ourselves! SIA is held at the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver and is the largest, most concentrated event in the snow sports industry. This show brings together modern style, technologies, innovations, and culture of the snow industry. As well as leading industry professionals, we did our best to catch up on what everyone had to offer. Never Summer Industries is our favorite local snowboard producer based right here in Colorado. We had the opportunity to collaborate with the iconic board company to create some amazing products. Icelantic Skis threw a wild party at Red Rocks Amphitheater after the show on Friday, known as...

Afrokilla at the Movement Gallery

Grassroots Chicago had the pleasure of starting off the new year with an exhibit by Keith Smith, aka Afrokilla, at the Movement Gallery. Afrokilla is a Chicago local and this was his first solo show in his city! Congrats! The theme of the show was based around the experiences of a young artist skateboarding through the city of Chicago. Afrokilla brought the city inside the storefront by incorporating outside pieces like caution cones, street signs, and power lines which had shoes hanging from them. Afrokilla has been involved in a lot of projects and has made many connections in his career. This was obvious to see as the party was packed with many friends showing love. The gallery was definitely the...

GRC Movement Gallery - Chicago's Own JC Rivera

We opened our Movement Gallery space to The Bear Champ on December 19th. The Bear Champ, also know as JC Rivera, is a staple street artist in the Chicago scene. His work can be seen throughout the city and his iconic bear character can be spotted from a mile away.  The opening party for “The Bear Necessities” exhibit was crackin'! With JC Rivera having a solid following a lot of his fans came out to the party. We had beverages from Lagunitas Brewing Company, Passion House Coffee and Essentia Water. Along with the drinks we had music by Sky Society, Sylvie Grace and hip-hop duo The Highest Low. Check out more photos from the party here! This exhibit at the...
