2018 CHARITY RECAP

With your help, we were able to support 7 amazing charities in 2018.

Learn more about these amazing charities and all they do to help!

---------------------------------------------------------
Conscious Alliance is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to supporting communities in crisis through hunger relief and youth empowerment.
Grassroots California got to spend a day in Boulder, Colorado helping the organization prep and pack meals for families in need. Our team packed over 1,700 meals in about 2 hours! We've also made and donated hats to the charity in the past. Check out their website for some amazing ART THAT FEEDS!
---------------------------------------------------------
Cooperative for Education is an innovative charity whose main mission is to wipe out the root cause of poverty in rural Guatemala: inadequate education. Poor education programs are a major hangup for most developing nations, one that hinders future growth and keeps rural areas stuck in poverty. With a minimal budget for books and media, the education systems cannot keep students interested or involved. Grassroots California was able to donate a portion of all online sales from the quarter to this charity.

Earth Day happens to fall two days after our big 4/20 celebration that also doubles as our anniversary celebrations. Every year we count how many hats we sell on 4/22 and we donate the money to plant one tree for each hat purchased. In 2018 we were able to plant 256 trees! That means you guys bought 256 hats in that ONE DAY, and while you are looking rather stylish in your new threads, you are also helping to better the planet. Our donations go to the great charity OneTreePlanted.org

Electric Forest 2018 + Grassroots California
The Flint water crisis has been going on since 2014 when the city changed its water supply to be sourced from the Flint River; a cheaper but much more dangerous option. The Flint River had insufficient water treatments and resulted in the exposure of over 100,000 residents to lead in the water.
Grassroots California dedicated a % of all festival sales to go back into the community for the purchasing of safe & clean drinking water. Our donations went to the wonderful organization; United Way Genesee County - Flint Water Fund
---------------------------------------------------------
Kayvan Khalatbari is an amazing man that ran for Denver Mayor in 2018. We happily supported him through his election because of his great outlook on life and other great things he pushed to improve our community. Kayvan selflessly dropped out of the election when he had the opportunity to support two young girls in need. We applaud this great man on all that he has done and all that he will continue to do in the future! Grassroots was able to create and donate campaign hats & pins to be sold to raise money for his campaign.

Feel The Beat is a movement and dance program specifically designed for the deaf and hard and of hearing. This revolutionary dance floor paired with sign language and various teaching tools gives the students at Feel The Beat an incredible opportunity to not only dance, but to also learn more about self-expression, communication skills, and social-emotional benefits.
Grassroots California spent a day at the dance studio learning some dance moves with the kids & taking pictures. We ended the lovely afternoon by hooking each dance student up with a swag bag; complete with a kid's grassroots hat, some sunglasses, stickers, and other goodies. And let's not forget about the pizza party! Grassroots brought tons of Ian's Pizza's for the kids to enjoy outdoors along with face painting, drawing with chalk, and other summer day picnic activities. We were also able to write the organization a sizable check; a portion from all of your online purchases. So, Thank You!

The Keep A Breast Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit breast cancer organization with a mission to empower young people all over the world with breast health education and support.
• WE <3 BOOBIES •
Grassroots California loved helping spread the word about their Keep A Breast - Self Checking program! We included fliers and I <3 Boobies bracelets into all of our online packages for the quarter. Do you still have your bracelet?!
We were also able to give the foundation a sizable check; a portion of all of your online purchases. It feels good to give back.

THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR SUPPORT

WE LOOK FORWARD TO MAKING 2019 EVEN MORE EPIC!
