Fall Fashion Trends from Grassroots California #FW19
This year, Grassroots California is bringing you new collections full of colors, textures, and new items to make sure you look your best as the air turns crisp. These are some our favorite items from Capsule 2 of our Fall/Winter 2019 Collection that we think you need to know about and add to your closet right now!
1. Stay Loyal, Stay Royal!
Calling all Sprout-royalty! These velour suits are fit for a king (and queen!). We've revisited our best-selling hoodie and jogger set and made it even more regal in black for 2019. This is not your Juicy jumpsuit from the early 2000s... this is the freshest, coziest, and most stunning set of the season, back in black and better than ever before! The Men's & Women's Black Pullover Hoodie features our "Royal Roots" insignia embroidered in gold thread on the chest, and a stash pocket on the back of the hood. But to complete the set, you need this velour joggers, too! The Men's and Women's Velour Sweatpants also feature the gold "Royal Roots" embroidery and have two zippered stash pockets: one on the bottom of the pant leg and one next to the pocket on your leg. You also have a convenient zippered back pocket. With elastic bands at the waist and the legs, you get the athletic fit that is both comfortable and flattering. And ladies, we've treated you with a totally new Royal Roots Velour item: The Women's Crop Hoodie! This velour hoodie is cropped short with a loose fit around your waist, so you can be active and attractive. Each of these pieces can be purchased separately, but we recommend the entire outfit for the ultimate royal look!
2. Desert Love & Desert Lore
This winter collection is inspired by the colors and textile patterns of the American Southwest. We've opted for raw fabrics like canvas and brushed cotton and combined them with woven jacquard fabrics and knits to make this look casual and effortless. The line is geared toward the winter season and features a full lineup of cozy pieces including a sherpa-lined parka, woven blankets, beanies, socks, hats and more. Our favorite piece? The Sherpa Parka! This is the perfect fall/winter jacket (yes, a legit, warm jacket!) with a durable mustard duck canvas exterior, soft sherpa fleece lining, and insulation for extra warmth. We've made this coat totally waterproof and given it drawstrings to keep you fully protected from the elements. The jacket features two front cargo pockets with hidden, fleece-lined side access to keep your hands warm when the winter cold hits! There are two YKK Zipper pockets on the exterior for storage and two hidden zipper pockets on the inside for the stash. Love the look but crave something else? Try out the Desert Lore hats or socks to complete your outfit, or deck your home out in our sprouty-style with the warm and cozy Desert Lore blanket!
3. Who-lipa? TU-LIPA!
Another set from our fall/winter collections is the Tulipa Line, inspired by the brightly-colored, blooming tulips from our travels abroad. The red Peacock Tulip featured on each of these items and is a famous Dutch Tulip. Accented with cerulean blue peacocks, feathers, and floral prints in grays, blues, and greens. This fabulously popular mix creates a classic Dutch eye-popping pattern seen throughout the collection. Yes, there are Tulipa hats and socks, but we think you should take a second look at the new Tulipa Anorak Jackets! These are our first-ever packable anoraks, made for the people on-the-go. The polyester ripstop shell is coated with a water-resistant finish, so the jackets are both water- and wind-resistant. They also feature custom woven bands down each sleeve and kangaroo pockets for extra storage. Both are unisex fits and will help keep you warm and stylish this fall! Another piece we're especially proud of is the Tulipa Woven Blanket! The woven design lends itself to maximum warmth, softness, and durability while ensuring the design will not fade or wash out over time. More items from this line will be released with Capsule 3 drop this December, so stay tuned for more floral-fabulousness!
4. Beanies, bb!
Everyone knows the easiest way to upgrade your fall look on a budget (and keep your head warm) is to throw a beanie on! We've got 5 new beanies we want to celebrate and share for you heady humans. Remember our Secret Society line? We upgraded the former collection with a turquoise and magenta twist for 2019, and the Secret Society V2 Pom Beanie is just as unique! The Secret Society symbol embroidered on the fold and has a zippered stash on the inside, too! Our Desert Lore line features two new beanies as well, in turquoise green and black. Both bring the Southwestern color palette and Aztec-patterns to your cap! These pom beanies also have the zippered stash. Knit beanies more your thing? Never fear! This year, we present the purple-knit and rainbow-knit beanie for the more classic, crocheted beanie look. We think you should get one for you and one for your bestie! The holidays are coming and these are one size fits most!
5. Rock the Socks!
Who's into feet? Well, even if you aren't "into" feet, we think your Grassroots gear should cover your toesies, too! And with three new pairs of patterned socks to choose from, there's a pair for everyone. Remember our sacred geometry pattern from SS18? We didn't. Back by popular demand, we've turned our fan-fave geometric pattern into the black and white Sacred G Socks. Craving color? Turn to the Tulipa Socks! This floral print is complete with the red Peacock tulip and accompanying pattern. Need even more of a statement sock? The Desert Lore Socks transform our turquoise, mustard, and red clay color palette into a symmetrical, southwest pattern that will definitely stand out when you're standing around. And what makes a better stocking stuffer than stockings? A pair of socks make a great gift for anyone on your holiday shopping list!
