Happy Bday GRC Chicago!

Happy Bday GRC Chicago!

Grassroots Chicago had a busy weekend starting on 4/20. That day we celebrated the official opening of our flagship store! We were lucky enough to have the homie Manic Focus drop in for a meet n greet and mini set. We were fortunate enough to listen to his newest album "Minds Rising" before the official release and this was also his first time playing a DJ Set on CDJs. Everyone loved the vibe of his mini set and of course his new album too. You can watch a previous live stream of his set on the Grassroots Chicago Facebook page.

The Movement Gallery was getting ready for its' biggest show yet - Year of the Bear! With over 40 different artists on the roster we were expecting a good turn out. Leading up to the opening party on 4/22 we expanded the gallery to accommodate this show and all future ones. The upstairs got a new sales section, checkout counter, and window display throughout the year, so it was only right to give the gallery an uplift as well.

The opening party was a huge hit! People poured in and out throughout the day and many stuck around for a while. To commemorate the event we made an official Year of the Bear snap-back hat. Shout out to Eva Lucia for the delicious pastries she cooked herself, Revolution Brewery and Passion House Coffee for the refreshing drinks and Sky Society for the beats!

We are so happy to have a year behind us. The Grassroots movement has planted itself in Chicago and the future is looking bright. We will continue to bring our fans and fam only the best and we hope to continue this adventure for many years to come!

O
ur next show will be featuring two very talented artists, Aaron Brooks and Vincent Gordon. Don't miss "MELT"!
