Michal Menert Meet & Greets at Grassroots are "Pretty Fantastic"
This month, producer and artist, Michal Menert, visited both Grassroots Colorado and Grassroots Chicago to meet and greet fans while promoting his newest album! As a creative who digs collaboration, Menert is well-known in the community for producing new jazz and trip hop, as well as working with artists such as Pretty Lights, Manic Focus, STS9, Umphrey's McGee, Bassnectar and more. He is also a successful sound designer and producer who has co-produced tracks and albums for rock, hip-hop, EDM artists alike.
Menert Visits Grassroots Colorado
On November 15th, one day before Menert's newest album "From the Sea" dropped, Grassroots Colorado hosted special guests and influencers for an exclusive party while Natty Rems, a local dispensary, sponsored the event. Menert and the 6 band members joined about 20 guests and the GRC staff for music, libations, and to enjoy Colorado's recreational cannabis policies. One of the highlights of the evening was Menert trying on our newest pair of Blacklight Bomber Glitch Yoga Pants, and rocking them!
Menert Visits Grassroots Chicago
On November 17th, the day after the album dropped, Menert traveled to Chicago to share his new music at both an in-store meet and greet and a set at a local venue. Despite delayed flights due to snow, Michal arrived at the Grassroots Chicago (just an hour before his set!) to meet some dedicated fans, talk about his experiences playing local music festivals, and share with us how he became the great musician and producer he is today. After a few rounds drinks and a good puff, we all made it to Chop Shop, a local butcher shop, restaurant, bar, and venue where Michal and his band, "The Pretty Fantastics" were about to perform.

From The Sea
The 17-track album "From the Sea" features Michal playing guitar and keys while providing his own vocals. His 7-piece band "The Pretty Fantastics" are also featured on every song performing live drums, saxophone, trumpet, keys, vocals, guitar, and live-mixing.
We really dig this album! Track 11 from the new album, Cascade, starts with some hip-hop style vocals, synthy sounds, vinyl scratching, and some sexy sax before getting into the space-like, soulful, hip-hop jam. Track 3, "See You Again" already has well over 40,000 plays on Soundcloud and rightfully so! The track begins with funky, swing vibe and fun vocals that make you want to sway before the vinyl breakdown leaves you somewhere between a hip-hop function and a jazz club. You can also catch Menert and the Pretty Fantastics perform songs from the new album live on Tour through February.
