Hats To Face Off in GRC Super Bowl
Grassroots California Super Bowl Hats

Once again, Grassroots hats will be facing off, headwear to headwear, but this time, it's in the first-ever Grassroots California Super Bowl!

The Game

The game, a Facebook competition (much like the 2020 Hat Tournament), will take place on February 6th and February 7th, aligning with NFL's Super Bowl LV. Participants will be able to vote for their favorite hat and predict the final score for a chance to win one of six Grassroots-Cash prizes!

How to Win

Grassroots Hats Super Bowl

To participate, followers will need to REACT on the Facebook post o vote for either the Pastel Patchwork Hat or the Dri-Bear Black Out Mesh Snapback Hat, and then COMMENT their final Super Bowl Score prediction (winning team and points). At the end of the 48-hour voting period, the winning hat will be announced along with five winners: four who have picked the correct winning team will receive $50 Grassroots gift cards and one grand prize winner who predict the final score will receive a $100 Grassroots gift card! Winners will need to send their preferred email and contact information to GRC within 24 hours of the winners' announcement to claim their prize.

Grassroots SMS Text Texting Cell Phone

For those who don't have Facebook (or want another chance to win), an alternative method of voting will also be available using our SMS texting service! First, sign up for our SMS texting service by texting "Grassroots" to 80519 and then, look for our game-day text at halftime! You'll be prompted with a Super-Bowl specific question and will need to respond by the end of the game for a chance to win! One lucky SMS winner will also receive a $100 gift card!

A third way to participate in the action will be to vote on Instagram and Facebook Story Polls which will be live for just 24 hours! We will also be reposting some of our favorite Super Bowl check-ins if you're wearing Grassroots Gear for the game! We want to see you're Grassroots game-day outfits, Super Bowl predictions, and the best Super Bowl set-ups out there! Tag us using @grassrootscalifornia or use #GSproutGang to get our attention!

We anticipate the virtual interaction to be at an all time high as the coronavirus pandemic is still preventing large group gatherings. As viewers watch the football game at home on TVs, phones, computers, and tablets, they'll have access to Facebook and text messaging to participate in the GRC Super Bowl as well. "Participation is this kind of event does really well," says Niki Graham, GRC's social media marketing manager and spirit squad captain. "Particularly on Facebook! Our Hat Tournament last year brought in thousands of interactions daily so I expect major engagement during our first-ever Super Bowl!"

The Hats

The hats competing this year are two of 2021's best-selling hats: the Removable Bear Pastel Patchwork Hat and the Dri-Bear Black Out Mesh Snapback Hat!

Removable Bear Pastel Patchwork Hat

Grassroots California Pastel Patchwork

The California Bear is a symbol across our brand, but the best use of the bear is on our interchangeable Removable Bear collection. This year's Fall/Winter 2020 collection included a "bear-y" special pastel variation of the patterned Patchwork print. A favorite from year's past, the Pastel Patchwork appeared on both a two hats and a tall hoodie. Not only does this hat cater to both the Snapback AND Fitted fans, it's been a best-seller since 2020's Q4 and has a direct line to glory in the first-ever Grassroots California Super Bowl.

Dri-Bear Black Out Mesh Snapback Hat

Once again, the California Bear makes an appearance on another one of our flat-brim hats, but this time, fully-embroidered in a black-on-black-on-black remake. While this New Hat appeared on our App and Online just weeks ago, this hat isn't new to the GRC shelves. In fact, this snapback first dropped back in 2019 and was a top-seller which sold out in just weeks. This Snapback features our sweat- and water-resistant fabric on the front panels and trucker-mesh on the back panels for light, airy wear. This hat truly is ready for all kinds of weather, but ultimately, the black-out color-scheme may be all it needs to win this GRC Super Bowl!

Super Bowl LV Predictions

GRC Super Bowl Commissioner and Grassroots California Owner, Ryan Connolly's Super Bowl Predictions:

"This super bowl is with some familiar faces but I have to go with the GOAT and Tom Brady to pull off the upset and win!"
- Ryan Connolly, GRC Owner & Super Bowl Commissioner

Grassroots California Senior Vice-President and Official Referee, Max Urquhart, will be watching from the sidelines back in Denver, Colorado. His predictions for the game's outcome?

"While Tom Brady is the Goat, football is about more than one player. I’m going with the Kansas City Chiefs led by Patrick Mahomes and Coach Andy Reid."
- Max Urquhart, GRC Chief Operating Officer & Official Referee

Former Midwest Manager and Spirit Squad Captain will be watching the game from Chicago, Illinois. Her thoughts on Super Bowl LV? Midwest is Best:

"I gotta support my midwestern team (with Coach Andy Reid, formerly of Philadelphia!). I just like how Kansas City plays: they're young, talented guys, model great sportsmanship, and play great football. Let's go, Chiefs!"
- Niki Graham, GRC Social Media & Spirit Squad Captain
